Mr. T
MighTEE = My Tee

2000 or 2001 - May 22, 2018

Born in the USA

Tee is a Xoloitzcuintzli, or Mexican Hairless. To be honest, we had no idea what that was until I saw his face on Pet finders and decided I needed THAT lap dog. There were so many applicants to adopt him they asked everyone to write a paragraph about why they thought they would be a good home for Tee. Lisa won!!! Off we drove to Fresno to pick up the precious prize.

Since then I have learned much about Xolos. It is an ancient breed (5000 years) that was originally raised for food. They were also believed to guide the dead through afterlife. There are 3 different sizes of Xolo, Tee is a toy, weighing in at 8 pounds and holding steady in spite of the fact that he LOVES to eat. They are an amazing breed, brought back from the brink of extinction in the 20's, dropped from AKC registry in the 50's due to lack of popularity. I sure cannot understand why, they are intelligent and so loving.

Tee is the PERFECT cuddle lap dog and most of the time spends his nights curled up right next to me under the covers.

Someone in Fresno did not bother to claim him from the pound there. He was taken from the shelter by The California Feline Foundation (Fresno) where Ramona Sargentini took him under her wing until she could find him a good home.

We really lucked out!!
